About Citadel Center

Citadel Center was completed in 2002 by architectural team DeStefano + Partners and Spanish architect, Ricardo Bofill of Taller de Arquitectura. Integrating a design evocative of a classical column with a heavy base, the 37-story building is highlighted by a projecting cornice at the roof line and curved silver glass walls. The lobby features a curved wall of Padauk red wood and travertine Romano marble flooring. A limited edition cast of the "Winged Victory of the Samothrace" presents a dramatic showpiece in the lobby. The original is displayed in the Louvre, France.

The building was the first in Chicago to utilize a raised-floor pressurized plenum system, allowing the efficiency of under floor air circulation and personal climate control through floor mounted diffusers. This benefits occupants by allowing fresh air to suffuse their entire floor-to-ceiling space, and studies have shown this results in a healthier working environment. Citadel Center was designated LEED Gold EB Gold in 2017 and contains a 13,000 square foot green roof to reduce rainwater runoff and heat island effect. The building is also Energy Star certified.

Citadel Center is a 1.5 million square foot Class A premier mixed-use tower, opened in 2003. The building address is 131 South Dearborn Street, Chicago, Illinois 60603. The property has approximately 1.4 million square feet of office space and 100,000 square feet of retail space. The property also includes a 211-space public parking garage.

The Building stands between two subway lines at the nexus of Chicago's public transportation system, with buses and trains in every direction. The Building is located within easy walking distance of Metra trains from both the Ogilvie Transportation Center, Union Station, and the South Shore Line. Its excellent location is in close proximity to City and Federal offices, hotels, restaurants and the Theater District.
